Generous Donation in Honor of James Jeremiah Lewis

In December, James Jeremiah Lewis, age 67, passed away with his daughters at his side.

The entire team at InVentiv Health of Saratoga, where his daughter Danielle Bedard is President, made a generous donation in his memory and honor recently and presented the check to Derrick LeGall. We would like to thank their team and pay our respects to James by sharing his story with our families....

He was born on December 12th, 1948 in Ballston Spa., NY to the late Frank C. Lewis and Alice Reed.

James served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Upon being drafted, he completed his enlistment training at Fort Dix, NJ. While at Fort Dix, James graduated from leadership training school with honors. He rated second highest in his class. After training, he was transferred to Fort Gordon in Georgia and deployed to Korea. He was honorably discharged in February of 1970.

James was admired by many for his incredible work ethic. He worked for General Electric in Schenectady in multiple ascending roles and retired after over 30 years of service.

Born and raised in the Saratoga area, he loved going to the Saratoga Race Course, in particular, the annual Labor Day Family get-togethers. He had a deep passion for reading, history, musical theater, Jeopardy, and golf. He was a long-time fan of The New York Yankees and The Seattle Seahawks (before anyone here liked them!). He also made time to attend family sporting events of his daughters, nieces, and nephews.

Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. So many speak of how he was kind, genuine, and truly took an interest in asking a simple question, “How are you?”, even if much time had passed.

The youngest of 14 children (6 brothers and 7 sisters), he quickly learned what it was like to have 8 mothers. More than anything, he cherished having brothers who were his best friends and especially enjoyed The Brothers' Breakfast Club.

In lieu of flowers, donations were made in his name to The Saratoga National Little League to ensure every child has a chance to experience the joy the game has brought to him and his girls.
