SSLL Program Information

Saratoga Springs Little League is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that provides recreational baseball for players ages 4-13 residing within the Saratoga Springs, NY school districts.  The league is chartered through Little League® and is operated by an all-volunteer Board of Directors and Staff

Through proper guidance and exemplary leadership, the Saratoga Springs Little League program assists youth in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being. By espousing the virtues of character, courage and loyalty, the Little League Baseball® program is designed to develop superior citizens rather than stellar athletes.


Spring Season

The primary season for SSLL is in the spring, with games played from late April through early June.  Teams can generally expect to play 1 game during the week and 1 game on Saturday.  Weekday games start at 6:00 PM and weekend games are played throughout the day, typically between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM for the younger divisions and 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM for the older divisions.  All games are played at West Side Recreation in Saratoga Springs, NY. 


Spring 2024 Cost

The cost of the registering a player for the spring season is as follows:

Registration Fee:

  • $80 for Majors, Minors AAA and Minors AA  prior to March 1st, $100 thereafter.
  • $40 for Bantam and Challenger prior to March 1st, $60 thereafter.
  • $25 for T-Ball.

Registering multiple children? Maximum family registration fee is $135.  

Concession Deposit:

$50 concession deposit per household, returned upon working a shift. Schedules created and communicated at the beginning of the season.

Raffle Tickets:

$50 per household for raffle ticket fundraiser.  Each household pays up front for $50 in raffle tickets that they can sell to family and friends.


SPRING 2024 DIVISION LEVELS

The league ages shown below are based on Little League Baseball guidelines for 2024.

Tee Ball - Ages 4 to 6 - 9/1/2017 to 4/30/2020 - An entry level division for players League Age 4-6, in Kindergarten or younger. Players must be 4 years old before May 1st, 2024 in order to register for T-ball. This division is designed for children with little or no experience.

Bantam - Ages 6 to 7 - 9/1/2016 to 8/31/2018 - (Coach Pitch) An instructional division for players League Age 6-7, typically in Kindergarten or 1st grade. Players Age 5 who are in Kindergarten and have one year of T-Ball experience may play in this division. 

Minors AA - Ages 7 to 8 - 9/1/2015 to 8/31/2017 - (Machine Pitch) An instructional division for players who are League Age 7-8 and in 2nd or 3rd grade. Players who are League Age 9 can play in this division upon request and with the approval of the Player Agent.

Minors AAA - Ages 9 to 10 - 9/1/2013 to 8/31/2015 - (Player Pitch) A competitive division for players who are League Age 9-10 and in 3rd, 4th or 5th grade. Players Age 8 with at least one year of experience at the Minor League AA level may be eligible to play in this division based on enrollment, player safety and player ability. Under certain circumstances, (ability, experience), Players Age 11 can play in this division with the approval of the Player Agent.

Majors Ages 11 to 12 - 9/1/2011 to 8/31/2013 - A competitive division for players who are League Age 11-12 and in 5th, 6th and 7th grade. Players Age 10 may be eligible to play in this division based on enrollment, player safety and player ability.

Challenger - Ages 4 to 18 - 9/1/2004 to 8/31/2020 - The Little League Challenger Program is Little League’s adaptive baseball program for individuals with physical and developmental challenges. The goal of this division is to provide the opportunity for the developmentally and/or physically disabled to enjoy the full benefits of little league participation in an environment structured to their abilities. Rules for this division will be flexible to meet the program’s needs. League ages will also be flexible for this division, determined by the Board of Directors on a yearly basis based on division registrations.


All Star Teams

Our charter is with Little League Baseball, Inc. and we are a member of New York District 11. We generally have all-star teams in each age group from 8 to 12. The teams and age groups that participate will be at the discretion of the Board of Directors and will be reviewed on a year to year basis.
